Extra View Setup
Every room watching something different
Extra View links up to three decoders on one subscription, so the lounge, main bedroom and kids’ rooms each get their own channel. We wire and configure the link so it stays stable.
What’s included
A link that doesn’t drop out after a week
Extra View decoders communicate over a dedicated heartbeat cable connection — which is why correct wiring matters. Badly linked decoders disconnect randomly; ours are wired to spec and tested on every unit before we leave.
- Assessment of your current dish and LNB — we confirm the outputs can support extra decoders
- Heartbeat cabling installed correctly between all linked decoders
- Up to three decoders linked on a single subscription
- Extra View activation and configuration on your account
- Signal and link test in every room before handover
- Written workmanship guarantee on the wiring and setup
Multi-room done properly
Planned from the LNB down, not patched from the wall out
A good multi-room setup starts at the dish: the right LNB with enough outputs, cable runs planned for each room, and no signal-sapping splitters where they don’t belong. We plan the layout before we drill a single hole.
Mixing decoder generations — an Explora in the lounge and HD decoders in the bedrooms — is no problem. We configure the remotes so they don’t interfere with each other, and walk you through how the linked setup works.
One subscription
What Extra View actually costs you
Extra View adds a small fixed monthly access fee to your existing subscription — far less than paying for two or three separate accounts. Each additional decoder watches independently: different channels, separate recordings, no fighting over the remote.
We’ll confirm on the quote exactly which hardware you need, and if your existing decoders can be reused, we’ll reuse them.
Quick answers
Extra View questions
Extra View lets you link up to three decoders on a single subscription for a small added monthly fee, so different rooms can watch different channels at the same time. The decoders communicate over a dedicated heartbeat cable connection, which is why correct wiring matters.
Yes. The E143-4 error means linked decoders have lost their heartbeat connection, almost always due to incorrect or degraded wiring. We rewire the link to spec and test it on every decoder.
Yes — Extra View supports mixed decoder generations. We configure the link and the remotes so each room works independently without interference.
